Devi Mahatmyam

|| Devi Mahatmyam || (Glory of the Goddess)

A personal project I started after reading Devi Mahatmyam, a small portion of Markandeya Purana, dedicated to the Goddess. Considered as her primary text, it explores her saguna (with form/incarnate) and nirguna (formless/abstract) aspects of her and chronicles her battles against various Asuras as Durga.

Starting off with this concept art for Durga, there wasn't much exploration to be done here as I didn't want to stray too far from her signature/mainstream look. Just minor tweaks and my own spin to it with an high fantasy aesthetic.
